North Korea at Night

North Korea at Night: the dark part in the north is North Korea, the lighted south is the more developed south Korea.

This is a very revealing photograph of what six decades of communist totalitarian rule have given to North Korea: a state so backwards that at night, from space, the nation of North Korea looks like just a black field. Its cities, devoid of electricity, cower in the dark while its leaders live a sumptuous lifestyle, importing foreign goods and women for their personal use.
